Zoom application Used by hackers to Install Spying Malware

Zoom is a special video conference program that reached the height of success during the time of quarantine. Yet as fast as it fell, the crash was similarly spectacular because of ongoing security reasons.

The Hackers are attacking remote staff using the Zoom app's success. A trend micro report says hackers allow users to access the zoom application from third party websites and the inofficial links to RevCode WebMonitor RAT are connected together.

The Remote Access Tool (RAT) from WebMonitor provides a loophole in your code to monitor practically everything that you do on your Computer. The RAT can be used for operations like keylogging, screenshot taking, and webcam video recording to steal personal and useful data.

The hackers send links to the target machine via phishing email campaigns and the Zoom software includes the Rodent. They ensured the RAT ends if it was carried out in a virtual environment and that security researchers and consumers were at risk of being detected.

Bundling RAT with the legit Zoom app removes users' skepticism, since the video capturing program is running perfectly, and tracking software is secretly mounted behind the scenes.

But, in comparison to the new version 5.0 the hackers usually push Zoom version 4.6. This may be one of the signs to warn users to find out that the downloaded file has something wrong.
We however recommend that our readers only install these apps from official websites and sources and do not use third-party app stores or websites for such purposes.

Even, Zoom alternatives can be used if you are not happy with Zoom's privacy and protection.
