YouTube prohibits the speeches of Stefan Molyneux, David Duke, Richard Spencer and more for their hate speech
YouTube has banned several major white channels, including Stefan Molyneux, David Duke and Richard Spencer.
The US Renaissance channel, with its associated channel AmRen Podcasts, and the Spencer National Policy Institute channel were also prohibited. A YouTube spokesman said that channels repeatedly violated YouTube's policies, claiming that members of the protected groups were less. These are accompanied by other violations which led to action on YouTube.
If we have a stringent policy forbidding YouTube hate speech, we can end any channel which violates these policies repeatedly or grossly, said a spokesman for YouTube to The Verge. "We have seen 5 times the rate of removal and have terminated over 25,000 channels in violation of our hate speech policies after updating our guidelines to better address the supremacist content.
In June 2019, YouTube started to crash on supremacist channels. In order to justify discrimination, segrection, or exception based on qualities like age , gender , race, caste, religion , sexual orientation, or veteran status, the company issued updated rules to prevent "files of the superior group.
Channels that brush up against this kind of content but do not cross the line are subject to further penalties such as losing access to YouTube's Partner Program and failing to monetize their videos.
Several of the affected creators have already begun tweeting. Spencer twisted that he would appel for suspension, calling the prohibition "a systemic, coordinated effort. Molyneux tweeted that YouTube has just suspended the world's largest philosophy conversation.
The ban on the six channels from YouTube has come after Reddit banned several high-profile and controversial subside reviews earlier today, including r / The Donald, and President Donald Trump was temporarily forbidden from Twitch because of hatred in two different strands of comments. For years, YouTube has been under criticism for Molyneux's canal to be eliminated. Earlier this year, Molyneux was prohibited by Mailchimp.
