YouTube is giving $1 million to the Police Equity Center

The alphabet's video site tweeted that it promised funds 'to help efforts to address racial injustice.' It is also dedicated to helping the Center for Police Equality in order to show its "solidarity towards racism and abuse."

The organization did not discuss the protests that took place in the U.S. cities the weekend in Minneapolis protesting the death of George Floyd. Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was accused by officials in Floyd 's death of fired murdering and second-grade killings following a video that showed Chauvin lying on Floyd 's neck while the other officers watched.

The Institute for Police Equity is a non-profit think tank made up of scholars and experts on race and justice. The company works with the police forces to resolve and alter racial policies using data.

YouTube has been criticized for promoting racist and radical material on its website in the past. The organization banned last June videos supporting the dominance and prejudice of any category on grounds of age , sex , ethnicity, caste, faith, sexual preference or vet status.

For the first quarter of 2020, Alphabet, YouTube's parent company, had 6.8 billion dollars in profited sales, which were $41.2 billion, and YouTube sales rose from 33 to 4 billion dollars during the year.
