Google Assistant also lets users schedule lights and other gadgets to switch on and off at particular times through its scheduled action feature, according to Android Police, which quotes Google Assistant Developer's documents.
Google Assistant has been working with Hue and other smart lights for some time turning them on and off and setting alarms, so now you can tell your Assistant precisely when you want to turn on lights and other gadgets in your smart house.
One caveat: you need to be precise whether you plan to program the lights (or other devices) to turn on or off a day in the future. Only saying something like, Hey Google, turn the lights on tomorrow at 8pm, is not enough. You'd have to think, Hey Google, turn the lights on Tuesday at 8pm.
However as Android Police has noted, you should designate sunrise and sunset as periods to set the lights on or off and you won't need to set the exact time. You may also use Google Assistant to arrange time to leave the lights on, such as Turn on the lights for 10 minutes.
The functionality is evidently still a work in progress, however in addition to the "tomorrow" quirk, Reddit users and the Android Police remember that the function to cancel the planned action does not seem to work. But according to Google's Smart Home Assistant documentation, it sounds like these features are going to work soon.
