Social-Media

You can now add tweets to your snapshots

Twitter makes it much simpler to distribute the tweets through any social networking site imaginable. Starting today on iOS (support is coming "soon" for Android), you're going to be able to add tweets to the snap as a sticker. Before, if you were to post a tweet on Snapchat, you'd have to take a screenshot of it and share it without getting access to any Snapchat camera or editing features.

If you want to post a tweet with Snapchat, click the share button on the public tweet (private tweets are not allowed for obvious reasons) and pick the Snapchat icon from the share carousel. You will then produce a snap as usual, only that you will have your chosen tweet as a sticker that you can control. You can then post the snap like every other—send it to people, or add it to your story, and whoever sees it can go to the tweet by swiping it up.

I have to admit that the snap example looks a lot nicer than the (often crunchy) tweet screenshots, and it's great that it's a format that lets you quickly identify the source. If you've dropped Snapchat to Instagram Stories, don't worry: Twitter also promises that a select number of iOS users will soon be able to try Instagram Stories for sharing tweets.

This is a feature designed for social media applications as they are today: places to reset tweets. When I write this, two of the top 10 posts on Reddit are tweets. Instagram is packed with pages that share tweet screenshots, and Facebook, I'm told, is just people who post messages (Twitter, of course, is full of old Tumblr posts). Today, Snapchat can be Facebook, too and the time for Instagram Stories is coming.
