Whats App's new browser extension could make web chats more secure.

Whatsapp parent company Meta has announced a new web browser extension known as Code Verify with an aim to improve the security of what's app web version.  The extension works by verifying that the contents of what's App web version are authentic and haven't been tampered with. The goal of this browser extension is to make it extremely difficult for any person to compromise data or the privacy WhatsApp end to end encrypted messages when using the browser based version of the service.

Code Verify is designed to make using the messaging service from devices other than the person's primary phone easier and seamless. Since the launch of this new feature, what's App Company has claimed it's seen an increase in people accessing the service through web browsers that may present new security challenges compared to an app.
