West Bengal introduces home software to track employees

The government of West Bengal has developed a software to monitor the performance of its homeworkers, a senior officer said Monday, in the context of COVID-19.
 
According to him, the device is used experimentally by the state financial department.
"We will use this in other departments if the findings are acceptable," the official said.
 
Officials of the State should not break the hours of service "think about it being ignored as it is at home," he said.
 
"The workers must login to the program, allowing the department in question to monitor the efficiency and working hours of the staff.
 
The government in West Bengal announced last week that only asymptomatic workers should be allowed rotatively to attend office.
 
"No workplace will be attended by people with symptoms of moderate fever , cough and cold and officers and workers living in containment zone will not come to their workplace. The office will be operating at home until the area is designated Clear Area (Category C) ...
 
The State government has prohibited personal meetings, as well as networking by intercom, cell telephone and videoconferencing.
