The Chairman and CEO of Vu Television, Devita Saraf, said she was not upset about the increasing competition in the affordable television segment. With Realme's launch of new units and OnePlus planned on 2 July, the segment was active at a significant late date.
"There are so many new brands with low prices and new features every year. I think we don't take anyone too seriously unless they are more than 3 – 4 years old or older, "Saraf said in a telephone interview at indianexpress.com.
In spite of the lockdown, Saraf stressed that Vu had been successful last month to sell 50,000 4 K TV, making them the country's biggest 4 K TV seller.
It said that its presence in the 4 K TV segment will be further expanded with its latest ultra 4 K line of TVs, comprising 43, 50 inches, 55 inches and 65 inch screen sizes.
For Vu Saraf, the lockdown was successful because during the country's lengthy lockdown, the company took customer service very seriously and served almost 10,000 Vu customers. She said there is a great demand for 4 K TV in the country at present and she said "Vu could especially do that large numbers in 4 K TVs and sold thousands of 4 K TVs because the production was ready on time."
