Twitter will get users to delete tweets wishing that Trump will die of COVID-19

President Donald Trump 's optimistic COVID-19 outcome has made Twitter a busy place in the last 24 hours, including several tweets that openly wished — several indirectly and some more directly — that he will suffer from coronavirus disease.

Twitter also reminded users that it doesn't enable tweets who desire or expect for death or significant bodily damage or terminal injury against someone. Tweets who breach this principle will have to be deleted, Twitter said Friday. It also explained, though, that this does not always entail termination. Several news sources misreported that accounts will be immediately suspended. Of course, it doesn't mean it consumers won't be suspended.

Motherboard announced that users would be removed, citing a Twitter tweet. This runs strongly contrary to Twitter's official comment about its own website.

On Thursday night, Trump tweeted that he and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, had been confirmed positive for COVID-19. White House physician Sean Conley released a memo on Friday announcing the positive findings of the SAR-Cov-2 virus, also referred to as COVID-19. Trump was seen aboard a helicopter on Friday night, headed to the Walter Reed Medical Center for several days of treatment.

Diagnosis sent shares to the main exchanges on Friday, including Nasdaq. Reports placed downward pressure on all big U.S. indexes, but more strongly on tech shares.
