It's finally here: Apple has revealed that its iPhone event will take place on October 13, with an invitation teasing the announcement with the phrase "Hello, Pace."
It's no surprise that this year's iPhone event is a little later than usual, as Apple said in July that the iPhone will miss its usual September launch window. Later launch is possibly due to delays caused by the pandemic of COVID-19. Apple hasn't entirely sat out of the fall hardware season, though, announcing new Apple Watches and iPads in the mid-September case.
The rumored iPhone 12 lineup is supposed to have a new design with squared-off edges (maybe similar to the iPad Pro) and support for 5 G networks. It is also expected to come in four different sizes, including a new 5.4-inch version (which will be smaller than the iPhone 11 Pro) and a 6.7-inch version (which will be the biggest iPhone ever). But if you were hoping that the new iPhones would have a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, well, you may have to wait another year. If you want to know more of what's being said about the new iPhones, we've got a full roundup of all we think we know right here.
Apple is rumored to have a range of other items in the works, including new over-ear headphones, a smaller and more affordable HomePod, and a rival to Tile 's position tracking tags, apparently called AirTags. There's always a possibility that Apple will share more about those at the case.
And in June, Apple announced that it would release its first ARM-based Mac by the end of this year, so we could hear more about that, too.
