The name of OnePlus TWS Earbuds may be OnePlus Pods, Features typed via Android 11 Beta 1 Update

OnePlus Pods seems to be the name of the next real wireless (TWS) earbuds that will be rumored to be released next month. The version of Android 11 Beta 1 OnePlus brought earlier this week for its OnePlus 8 series shows some references to the earbuds — including their name and a few key features not previously suggested.

In April, OnePlus was originally told that its first TWS earbuds would be unveiled alongside OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. The company did not make this announcement, however, and instead unveiled the new offer for audio fans of the Bullets Wireless Z.

XDA Developers notes that the Android 11 Beta 1 code has many references with the titling "OnePlus Pods" and a string "oneplus tws Pods function." The technology site also shows that a standalone OnePlus Pods app can be launched for OnePlus to control its new ear-puds by digging into the new firmware. This sounds like companies like Realme and Xiaomi have dedicated apps to control their IoT devices.

Besides the name of the app and the existence of the app, the Android 11 beta code suggests that new earbuds would support gestures such as double-tapping for playing or pausing an active track or even skiping to the next or earlier song.

There is also a reference to the Over-the-air ( OTA) update, as well as the option to use the Google Find My Accessories functionality called "find my bluetooth earphone" to synchronize data with a connected device using the Google quick pair service.

The TWS earbuds of OnePlus did not provide any official details. It is rumored, however, that in July the company plans to launch its product. Early reports suggest that an Apple AirPod is similar in design to that of the Google Pixel Buds.

A tipster called Max J last month. Twitter claimed that OnePlus' TWS earbuds should be named "OnePlus Buds" but he claimed that the official notification could be updated because the name is shared by an obviously trustworthy yet new source.
