Sky Sports works with EA Sports' FIFA division to create simulated songs and crowd noises intended for specific teams, with the English Premier league set to start again in the coming weeks.
The objective is to replicate, according to a press release, "the dynamic atmosphere of the Premier League clashes." While some sports ligaments suddenly begin to recover from the global coronaviral pandemic, security measures are used to ensure teams play at empty stadiums. Sky Sports viewers can either view the channel with or without the additional sound effect.
It is an odd experience to watch live sports without a constant background of joy. Anecdotally, I saw a recent German Bundesliga football game played at a vacant stadium, distracted by the calmness of the match. Fans were able to zoom in in in a new game, which saw Danish Superliga club AGF Aarhus play. As teams played, they were screened around the stadium.
Sky also works towards providing viewers with other innovative experiences. Fans can "select matches with friends in a video room and interact" on the Sky Sports website and within the app in the press release.
Fans can "influence crowd noise on the screen." His will allow him to.
"We spent a lot of time thinking about how we're broadcasting new ways to bring together fans, even if they can't get together to watch the match," said Rob Webster, managing director of Sky Sports. "We want Sky Sport viewers to still experience it all, even if they can't be in stadiums and watch with friends and family."
Sky Sports will feature a total of 64 matches with 39 exclusive games and a further 25 airings on Sky's open-air network, Pick. Games are scheduled for resumed on 17 June and Aston Villa will play Sheffield United and Manchester City with Arsenal. In the face of a global pandemic we are still in, but things can always be changing.
