Telegram launches one-on-one video calls on iOS and Android devices

Telegram, a single-to-one video call alpha version of its Android and iOS apps, said the company that 2020 "has highlighted the need for personal communication."

Telegram describe the process to begin a video call during its 7th anniversary: tap on the person's profile page you want to connect to. The video calls support image- in-picture mode, which will allow users to continue to scroll across the app if that call becomes boring. End-to - end encryption will occur in video calls, Telegram blog posts, and an app defining functionality for their audio calls and text messages.

We have reproducible builds for our Android and iOS apps so everyone can check encryption for the same open source code we publish for each update according to the post.

Telegram announced in April that it would launch video groups later this year. This is not true, but the company stated in the latest blog post that, when we work on starting group calling videos in the coming months, video calls will receive more information and improvements in future versions

In April, Telegram said 400 million active users were reached monthly.
