Canada's intelligence agency warned that the arrest of billionaire Huawei founder Ren Zheng 's daughter would set off global "shock waves" and seriously affect ties with China shortly before her detention in Vancouver on a U.S. extradition request, new court documents show. Released on Friday, documents show the involvement of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) in December 2018.
As part of Meng's extradition hearings a CSIS report was published in court records. In a memo published on Dec. 1 , 2018, CSIS said it had been advised by the United States. Meng will be arrested by FBI on a flight to the International Airport of Vancouver later that day.
"It is possible that the arrest will send shockwaves around the globe," said CSIS. "Internationally and bilaterally, the planned event will play a significant role."
Huawei lawyers called documents evidence of the conspiracy between authorities and Meng.

The U.S. authorities accuse Meng of bank fraud for misleading HSBC about the relationship of Huawei with an Iranian company, placing HSBC under threat of fines and sanctions for violating US penalties on Tehran.
The case should be rejected by Meng 's lawyers because Iran was not punished by Canada. She's innocent, Meng says. A Canadian judge permitted the continuation of the case last month, denying the arguments of the Defense that U.S. charges against Meng were not crimes in Canada.
The new documents from the court show that CSIS was concerned about the publication of Meng 's arrest.
Her lawyers pointed out the matter was especially interesting, as the G20 meeting was held in Argentina by Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau, Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and they were having dinner together on the evening of 1 December.
