Spotify is rolling out the opportunity to download music right from your Apple Watch, reported to The Verge. After the introduction of the app in 2018, Apple Watch has mainly served as a remote system for Spotify music played on an iPhone or Spotify Connect-compatible device. But once the latest functionality is rolled out to you, you'll be able to stream music from Spotify to your Apple Watch to Bluetooth headphones or speakers while you're not close to your phone.
My colleague, Ian Carlos Campbell, has access to the streaming feature, and he told me how to set up it. Next, press the device menu at the bottom right corner on the music player pad. If you have a streaming feature, see your Apple Watch at the top of the page.
If you tap that, the app will ask you to choose from a Bluetooth system that is attached to your Apple Watch, such as your AirPod or nearby Bluetooth speaker. Choose the computer of your choosing, and the music will start playing.
The streaming functionality allows you to have an Apple Watch Series 3 or later, watchOS 6.0 or later, a cellular or Wi-Fi link, and the current update of the Spotify app, according to the Spotify support guide.
Streaming is not the only new update to Spotify's Apple Watch app: the company added the option to ask Siri to play music from Apple Watch in April.
