South Korea has provided a $76.28 million loan to help establish an IT park in Islamabad.

The Government of Pakistan has obtained a significant loan from the Republic of Korea in the amount of more than $76 million for the creation of an Information Technology Park project in the country's capital.
 
The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has confirmed that the government has received a $76.28 million loan from the Export-Import Bank of Korea, which came from the Republic of Korea's Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), to help fund the establishment of the IT Park project in Islamabad.
 
The Project Executing Agency (PEA), which is the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, has invited bids from qualified bidders for the construction of the Information Technology Park in Islamabad, as well as the supply, installation, and commissioning of ICT infrastructure and security equipment.
 
The work and procurement to be completed in this project are broken down as follows:
 
->IT Park building construction – ten [ten] floors above ground and two [two] basements with a gross floor space of 66,893.643 m2.
 
->Offices, shared rooms (conference rooms, data centers, and so on), amenities, backup power, and a parking lot are all available.
 
->Commissioning and implementation of ICT infrastructure and security systems
 
->Infrastructure: building network, tier-iii data center, mis, wifi, PA system, video conferencing system, and so on. – security system: fence security, human and vehicle control systems, surveillance cameras, and so on
 
Work and procurement are expected to take 30 months.
 
During the building phase, the Islamabad IT Project is planned to offer about 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, and once it is completed, it is estimated to give over 15000 jobs to IT specialists, students, and industry workers.
