Slack's latest status feature is roasting us for our several lunch breaks.

Do you need to tell your boss that you're eating lunch? Slack will now let you select from the last five custom statuses so that you don't have to code them (and choose the correct emoji) over and over again.
 
That's it, that's the news — but it's already become the most popular feature of The Edge, let me tell you.
 
Except, perhaps, for the shame:
 
 
At least Kaitlin 's diet has a lot of protein and berries, unlike me (see the top picture). Perhaps I ought to lay off the carbs a bit?
 
The changes tend to be server-side, and they're recent as of September — but contrary to what Slack's changelog suggests, we 're seeing them on Linux and iOS as well, not only on the web.
 
I bet you could use them for stuff other than lunch, if you really wanted to.
