Sales of iPhone in China declined in May

(China Daily) In the past month, Apples iPhone's sales reached 3,6 million million in China, down 7,7% as of April; with CINNO Research, a Shanghai based Consulting Platform, this figure has slightly increased year after year with 3,05 million mobile telephones being sold last May.

Due to the economic recovery and rising consumption demand following the novel coronaviral outbreak, iPhone sales posted a 160% increase month-to - month in April.

In February, iPhone sales declined 60% compared to the same period in 2019, affected by the epidemic.

Meanwhile, in May the so-called iPhone sales totaled just over 2 million with a fall-off of approximately 25% a month, IDC, another worldwide research firm, preliminary estimates.
The number of iPHones sold to its Chinese retail partners by Apple refers to the sell-in shipments, which can be used as an indicator of future demand.
Apple has launched their first Discount Campaign in an effort to stimulate mobile phone use through the official Tmall store, China's largest e-commerce platform, during the June 18 shopping festival.

Within 5 hours of the campaign kick-off, iPhone sales recorded 500 million yuan, exceeding the total volume of mobile phone transactions on the Chinese market for a whole day, said one Tmall officer.
