OnePlus says that the Nord will be pre-installed with Google Messaging and Phone

Instead of its launch on July 21, OnePlus posted an Instagram video suggesting that its Nord phone would come with Google Messages and Phone applications enabled instead of its own SMS and dialer, 9to5Google announced. The computer will also have the Google Duo video chat app pre-installed, according to the video.

Why OnePlus wanted to carry out Google apps isn't obvious, but it's obviously in search of the "smoothest" Android experience, according to the video. As 9to5Google says, using Google Messages, Nord users have access to RCS messaging.

OnePlus said that the Nord, scheduled for the augmented reality launch event on Tuesday, will be a "more affordable" device. Instagram video references "a pretty great price," but they don't offer specifics, however OnePlus said in a video last month that Nord will cost less than $500.

In addition to numerous public statements, more information about the latest phone have leaked over the last few weeks. OnePlus confirmed its name and said that the Nord would be operated by a Snapdragon 765 G 5 G processor, a 6.55-inch 90Hz OLED display, 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of internal storage. It is also expected to have a 48-megapixel main camera and a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens.

The OnePlus Nord is expected to be released first to users in Europe and India.
