Now TikTok has the whole song catalog of Prince

TikTok has signed an agreement with Prince to include the "complete catalog" of the late artist in its application, beginning today. Price protected his work for long and pulled Music before his death from most streaming services.

Yet in 2017 his estate began to return albums to services such as Spotify.

TikTok is the "first short-form video application" to access its entire disco, a very specific but still remarkable superlative, as the story format has become popular in recent years.

The deal means that TikTok users can dance, joke or otherwise enjoy Prince's songs.

This news won't necessarily be promising for TikTok's relatively young user base, but company and estate hope it will continue to introduce Prince's music to a new fan generation.

TikTok has helped to make all sorts of songs popular, so the right song snipet is very likely, which would familiarize more people with the work of Prince. One thing that is fun to Tiktok is to tap the title of a song, which plays, and you're going to hear the same chunk of a song over and over again, to see other popular video that uses the music.

Also, it's interesting that you don't have access to all these tracks, like other songs on TikTok – only 15 seconds snippets which were already chosen for you. A TikTok page, which so far includes music videos and TV interviews, has been also launched by the estate Prince.

One of the major challenges of TikTok is to make great deals with music now that its technology has exploded.

According to Billboard, the organization has entered into short-term licensing deals with the major music labels, but long-term contracts still seem to be a fair way off as labels wait for their industry to be affected.

Kevin Mayer, Disney Plur 's new CEO, was hired by TikTok in May. Mayer is known to do big deals — such as acquire Marvel — which probably contributed to his involvement.
