New remote-sensing satellites are launched by China.

On Friday, China successfully launched a group of remote-sensing satellites into orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province, southwest China.

The satellites, which are part of the Yaogan-30 family, were launched at 2:11 a.m. Beijing time by a Long March-2C carrier rocket (6:11pm GMT).

The satellites can be used to track radiation pollution and conduct technical experiments.

A satellite from the Tianqi constellation was also on board. The Tianqi-12 satellite will be used to capture and transmit data.

It was the Long March rocket series' 369th flight.
