Netflix will cancel subscriptions from those customers who have subscribed to the platform but have not used it for a year or more. It will first alert customers via e-mail or push notifications. In the event that customers do not reply, Netflix will automatically cancel the subscriptions of those customers.
The switch is intended to save money to customers who do not use the service.
"At Netflix, the last thing we want is people paying for something they don't use. So we're asking anyone who hasn't been watching Netflix for a year since they joined to confirm they want to keep their membership," Netflix's blog post read.
In a study by Reuters, Netflix expected a further rise of 7 million paying subscribers during the time of the pandemic, which could continue until June.
Users looking to subscribe to Netflix will get a free month trial of the current Netflix plans available in India:
The plans start with the Mobile-Only Plan at Rs 199. This plan is pocket-friendly for users who want to use Netflix only on their mobile phones and tablets. They 're having the same range of content as a premium plan customer. However, users of the mobile plan can not stream to HD.
