Launched online account service of Agriculture Development Bank, became the first among government banks

Kathmandu: The Agriculture Development Bank has launched online account service from last Friday.

The service was jointly launched by Laxmi Prapanna Niraula, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Anil Upadhyaya, Chief Executive Officer of the Bank.

Yagya Neupane, Deputy General Manager of the bank, told Pahiloklik that an arrangement has been made to open an account at home by ending the hassle of having to be physically present to avail this service.

To open an online account, the account will be opened within two minutes of the customer uploading the required documents to open the account online.

However, Neupane informed that the documents have to be verified by appearing at the concerned branch of the bank within three months.

To open this account you need a passport size photo, a certificate of citizenship and a copy of the original documents of the desired person.

As soon as the account is opened online, the customer will be able to do low and limited transactions even before the document verification. Since there is a risk of transacting a large amount of money through such an account immediately or before verifying the documents, up to 25,000 transactions can be done normally. Through this account, electricity tariff, phone and water charges can be paid immediately.

He said that the account holder has to appear in the bank within three months and verify the details of the details submitted online, which will increase the transaction limit after the completion of the work, he said.

Ashra Kunwar has opened the first online account of this bank.

Neupane said that the service is targeted at the entire youth who feel comfortable on the internet at this time.

Ajay Rimal, department head of the market and branch management department of the bank, said, "People from all over the country and abroad can open an account with this service." The service has been started as we have been taught to make maximum use of technology.

Rimal said that Krishi Vikas Bank was the first government bank to facilitate online account opening.
The number of savings customers of this bank is around 1.2 million. The bank has 280 branches across the country. Rimal requested to login to adbl.gov.np to open an account.
