Social-Media

In Pakistan, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp are all closed until 3 p.m.

According to the Interior Ministry, the government has decided to halt all social interactions in the country from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has been ordered to stay offline and shut down Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, Telegram, and Twitter in the country, according to the ministry.

On the 16th of April 2021, complete access to social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Telegram) across the country may be blocked from 1100 hours to 1500 hours, according to a statement issued by the ministry to chairman PTA.

Access to certain social media applications has been temporarily restricted in order to maintain public order and safety, according to PTA sources.

Any media coverage of TLP has been prohibited. PEMRA – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority – has taken strict measures to prevent the publicizing of any news related to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan's terrorism (TLP). They have been in a three-day nationwide protest, disrupting the country's peace.

Regulation 18(h) of the PEMRA Regulation, 2012, and Clause 16 of the Electronic Media Code of Conduct, 2015 require that programs conform to the laws of the country, according to the PEMRA notice.

Moreover, proscribed organizations are prohibited from receiving media coverage under Clause 3 (3) of the Electronic Media Code of Conduct, 2015, it stated.

So, if you're wondering why you're not getting any notifications on your phone or why your WhatsApp messages aren't being delivered, it's because the country is currently under a social media ban!
