A world without bees? Impossible. However, the decline of these pollinating insects, essential to our ecosystem (in particular they allow many species of wild plants, trees and fruits to develop), is real.
To attract bees to the city center, and precisely to fight against this decline, Leicester decided to transform its bus shelters into gardens for bees, made up of various plants (lavender, sedum, wild flowers, etc.) so that they can come and pollinate in peace, a process that ensures fertilization and the production of seeds and fruits. These plant shelters should also attract other pollinating insects, such as butterflies, flies and hummingbirds.
How great is this. @clearchanneluk are overhauling every bus shelter in Leicester with eco-friendly alternatives and 30 of those will be Living Roofs known as “Bee Bus Stops”.

Leicester is not the first city in the world to transform its stops in favor of biodiversity. In the Netherlands, several municipalities such as Utrecht have already made this ecological transition. In any case, the Dutch are always one step ahead when it comes to protecting the planet.
