Image of Mangalyaan by ISRO : The Biggest Moon Phobos is captured

A recent image of the mysterious moon of Mars, Phobos captured by the Mars Orbiter Mission, also known as Mangalyaan, was shared on Friday by the Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO). The Mars Color Camera captured the image on July 1.

ISRO took the picture on Twitter and wrote, Taken in a recent image by India's Mars Orbiter Mission of the Mysterious Moon of Mars, Phobias.

Mars Color Camera (MCC) on-board Mars Orbiter Mission took the view of Phobos, Mars' closest and largest lunar, on the 1st of July, when MOM was about 7,200 km from Mars and at 4,200 km from Phobos, says ISRO.

The most commonly thought to be Phobos is the carbonate chondrian phase. Phobos' strong phasis, together with the other craters (Shklovsky, Roche and Grildig), is seen in the widespread section gouged from a previous collision, and is a bouncing ejecta, says ISRO.

PSLV-C25, an expandable launch system, started the mission on November 5, 2013 and entered the Martian orbit on its first attempt on September 24, 2014.
