If you can select a foreign elections hacker, the US will pay up to $ 10 million

In the 2020 US presidential elections, the US Department of State today announced that it will be providing up to $ 10 million for information that will identify someone who has taken part in an American election in order to prevent the interference in foreign elections that took place during the 2016 elections.

In particular, the State Department awards 'information to identify or locate any person who works with or for a foreign government to interfere with U.S. elections through some illegal cyber activities.' The State Department also offers a prize.

With November approaching, it is reported that foreign interference is already present in the elections this year. Russia has already been interfering in the 2020 campaign to support the reelection of President Trump in February, the intelligence officers stated. In the same month, officials said that Russia intervened to help Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary.

The COVID-19 pandemic also poses potential problems in the US elections. Given that many people fear that polling will be carried out on election day because of fear of the virus, some countries opt to allow mail voting to try to prevent it.

However, election experts told our sister Vox that many states face problems before November, as poll workers' shortages leading to longer times of waiting at polling sites result in delays in voting by mail ballots.
