He invents a flying house capable of going further than any car

We don't know yet, but maybe 30 or 50 years from now, the motorhomes of the future will fly. What might have seemed surreal a few years ago is much less since manufacturers began to develop flying taxis and other drones intended for air mobility. Proof that these machines are becoming a reality, the firm Volocopter recently made a successful first flight of its electric air taxi in France at the Paris Air Forum trade fair. The company also hopes to have an operational system for the 2024 Olympics.

Put in context, this concept of the flying motorhome, imagined by the Swedish designer Marcelo Aguiar specializing in automotive design, immediately seems less eccentric. Even if several questions arise as to the feasibility of such a project, in particular the stability of such an object in the air.

Glamping. The square house looks, inside, like a huge, fully-equipped living room. There is a pilot's cabin at the front, a "balcony" area, a living room, an open-plan kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. We imagine that all the elements are fixed to the ground to avoid breakage during take-off and during flight. The retractable wings are located in the four corners of the house and the four micro-reactors would allow the craft to take off and fly.

If, on paper, this concept makes you want to, and breathes new life into the idea of traveling in a motorhome, such a project will not see the light of day for several years (if it does see the light of day). It is already time to have precise laws on flying devices (who can fly them, how, when, where to land, etc.) but also the infrastructures necessary for the proper functioning of an aviation ecosystem. But if this flying house, dubbed “Polestar Air.V”, ever becomes available, it could change your vacation forever.
