Android's Real-Time Captions app, Live Caption, is acquiring the ability to work with voice and video calls, Google announced Monday. Previously, Live Caption only interacted for media that played on your phone, like a YouTube stream, so this latest app means that you'll soon be able to make a phone call with someone to get the captions on what they're doing.
If you want to see Live Caption with calls in motion, check out my colleague Dieter Bohn 's video he shared on Twitter using the recently released Pixel 4A app. Google says the app will roll out to Pixel 2 , 3, 3A, and 4 as well.
Google also revealed that the latest edition of Google Assistant — which launched with Pixel 4 and introduced speed, new design and new capabilities — will be available in German , French, Italian and Spanish. The business says they'll be "online early" on the help page of Google Assistant. Google also said more languages are coming "soon."
In addition to unveiling the $349 Pixel 4A, its latest midrange handset, Google has also announced two new phones arriving later this year: the Pixel 4A 5 G, the Pixel 4A 5 G edition, and the Pixel 5, the company's next flagship model.
