Google says it will load your Chrome tabs up to 10% faster soon
Google improves tabs' performance in Chrome, a new blog post says, and the change could lead to up to 10 percent speed gains. When you check out a task from your to-do list after another, it's still a few seconds to wait while loading your tabs slows you down, said Google Alex Ainslie.
According to a Chromio post, Chrome will accelerate load times for active tabs by taking back resources from those idle for some time. We are seeing improvements not only in speed charging, but also in battery and memory savings.
The tab grouping announced by Google back in May will now allow you to collapse groups and enlarge them so that it is easier to see the ones you need to access.
Chrome also adds tab previews (beta now) that show you a website thumbnail in each tab as you hit it. Ainslie promises to during the next few weeks, you will be able to fill out PDF forms and save it directly from Chrome with your input. You can collect where you left off when you open the file again.
More finger-friendly tabs also include new features when using a 2-in-1 laptop in tablet mode, and when typing a website title in the urlbar on Android without realizing that somewhere you've already had the site opened you'll see some suggestion to switch over to the existing tab.
