Google is testing new profile cards that can be added to search results

In the search results of Google, the new public profile system created by users is tested called "personal cards." This allows users to develop a profile for themselves (including their job, links to their social media sites, a brief biography, and more). It is the same as celebrities and companies. The new cards are only tested in English in India.

Search the words, "Add me to Search" while logging on to your Google account in order to create a new people card. Google will take you from there to a new card creation page.

You can also provide your education, home town, links to your site and other social networks, and even your email and telephone number, but all you have to do is name, job, location and a "abroad" bio.

Obviously, there is a large potential for abuse with a system that enables anyone to create a result that appears in Google search for the hundreds of millions of customers who depend on the service every day. Even if you search your names or use your card to give sensitive information like your address, email or telephone number, it is difficult to imagine the creation of fake cards by trolls or harassers.

Google states that, in order to prevent the spam and abuse of a people's card system, it has "number of mechanisms." Each Google account can only create a card for one person and must have your account authenticated with a phone number before you can create the card. Google will let you flag cards with wrong information or that you believe an impostor has created, and users can delete or edit your cards whenever they want.

Google's People search cards have been launched today in India; if or when the feature hits other regions, Google still must say.
