Google adds security warnings to the cross-app account on iOS

Google today introduces a few security-related changes, including new cross-app warnings that will notify you when there's a security problem with your Google Account. The idea is that you will be alerted when Google detects a potentially serious security problem with your account, no matter what Google app you are using at the time.

Alerts come out on a limited basis in the coming weeks, but they're just going to be on iOS at first, Google tells The Verge. According to a blog post, the company plans to extend them more widely early next year.
 
The company is also introducing a guest mode to Google Assistant, which will not save any requests to your Google account while it's on. When it's rolled out, you'll be able to toggle it on by saying, "Hey Google, toggle on Guest Mode." The new mode will roll out to Nest smart speakers and displays in the coming weeks, Google tells The Verge.
