Google releases a new update to Android Auto that enables some of its clever automotive software to recover. This includes returning the calendar app, which allows you to view information about your next date and get instructions for driving if you add a place to the calendar entry. Prior to its last redesign in 2019 Google removed the Calendar app by replacing it by a button that would just read your appointments loudly using Google Assistant, rather than showing you anything on the screen.
The new update also adds relevant shorts to the Calendar application-for example, if you want to pick up a birthday cake, call or pull the bakery in. In 2019, Apple introduced a similar calendar feature that enabled CarPlay users to draw directions and view appointments as part of their iOS 13 update.
In order to contribute towards the creation of new apps and categories for Android Auto, which include navigation, car parking and electric vehicle charging, Google also today announced that it has been working together with "Early Access Partners." How these apps will be distributed has not been said by Google. Google is making those APIs available to the public if the trials are successful, so that other software developers can begin building new applications for their software.
