Google Messages can now answer emoji responses

Google is adding several new features to Android's Messages App, including emoji-reacted messages, which are available in other messaging applications such as Facebook Messenger and the iOS app. First tested in May, this feature was discovered, but Google now officially launched it on the latest version of its Messages application.

Tap and hold the message you want to respond to to using an emoji reaction and a short list of nice animated emojis will appear. You can use emoji reactions only, however, if you have RCS chat activated.

Google also adds a new Smart Reply feature that automatically already provides potential answers: emoji stickers can now be proposed in addition to just text. Right now, however, according to Google, the feature is only available in English.

If text, emoji and stickers don't cut it down, Google adds some other handy messaging tools, including a new video call button, to help you get your photos marked out in your conversation, and you can tap on it to go straight from your converted text to a Google Duo video and a media editor.
