Fortnite on PC has decreased considerably, from over 90 GB to just under 30 GB, thanks to recent optimizations by the Epic maker.
The news, outlined yesterday in the Fortnite update note posted to the game's Twitter account service, means that the Battle Royale hit will now take up even less room on your computer's drive. This gives you more space for other games — or some additional breathing room in the event that you have the monstrous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare / Warzone mounted.
As the update note points out, PC players would need to download a larger-than - normal patch before the overall file size reduction takes effect. But after that, the game should be no more than a third of its previous size. The patch will also set up a game for better loading performance and smaller potential updates down the road, speeding up the time it takes to update Fortnite and get back to play.
