Facebook’s TikTok clone Lasso : Seems to be shut down in Upcoming month
Facebook is shutting down Lasso, a popular TikTok-inspired video app that was launched back in 2018. CNN's Kerry Flynn noticed the updates being sent to users, reminding them that the device will not be available after July 10, and urging them to delete any videos they want to keep.
Facebook seems to be shutting down Lasso as its attention turns to the Instagram Reels app. Reels is a video editing application that lets users capture and edit TikTok-style videos that can be uploaded to their Instagram Stories, uploaded via DM, or uploaded to a new section of the Explorer tab called Top Reels. According to TechCrunch, this feature was introduced in Brazil last year and expanded to France and Germany last week.
