Facebook is still hosting boogaloo extremist groups, reports say.

According to a new Tech Transparency Project report on Wednesday, Facebook is still full of groups and pages that align itself with the "boogaloo" antigovernment movement months after the company announced that it was banned these communities.

Only months after reporting that the extremist right-wing party had taken the platform to organize the armed revolt, Facebook announced in June that it would remove groups devoted to the Boogaloo movement. At that time, Facebook said it deleted more than 200 boogaloo Facebook groups and 95 accounts of the violation of its policies against organized violence and 400 other extremist groups.

However, this change in policy may be less effective than originally suggested. The Tech Transparency Project stated in its report, Wednesday, that it "found that Facebook has consistently failed to detect boogaloo activities and missed simple changes in the names of boogaloo groups to avoid detection." It has identified 110 Facebook boogaloos which have been created since the platform announced their ban on them in June and some of these groups "have over 1 000" They frequently share instructions on explosive and other harmful behaviour.

A group of loosely related conservative and liberal individuals, often heavily armed and advocating of a Second Civil War, represent a boogaloo movement. In its Thursday report, the Tech Transparency Project stated that many of the move-aligned groups do not use 'boogaloo' in their names and often change their names to derivations of the word 'big luau' to prevent the detection on the platform.

A request for comment from The Verge was never immediately replied by Facebook. However, the company stated in June, this violent network is banned from attending our platform and content loudness, support or representation will be eliminated.
