Elon Musk's Boring Company is hiring for a future tunnel project in Austin.

Boring Company, Elon Musk's tunnel boring plan, may be looking into its next project in Austin , Texas. The business has recently posted half a dozen new jobs in the city and has kindly tweeted about Austin 's soil.

It's not shocking that the Boring Business is choosing Austin for its next project. Musk's other company, Tesla, has recently announced that the city will be the site of its next factory, with a focus on Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck development.

Jobs available in Austin range from electrical engineers to mechanical engineers, business development managers and professional recruiters. It is not clear if the Boring Company has already started talks with local authorities about a tunneling project. The company's spokesperson did not respond immediately to a request for comments.

Whether a future Austin project is linked to Tesla's planned plant, it also remains in the air. If so, Tesla definitely laid the groundwork by consulting with local authorities for months on issues concerning the plant. In July, Austin officials approved a total of at least $60 million in property tax rebates for the company.

Tesla plans to employ up to 5,000 employees with an average salary of $47,147, with entry-level jobs beginning at $35,000. It will spend at least $ 1 billion with plans to develop a factory of between 4 and 5 million square feet.

Boring Company has a 1,14-mile research tunnel near SpaceX's Los Angeles headquarters. It is also currently working on a series of tunnels to move people beneath the Las Vegas Convention Center — though this project would not carry as many passengers as originally estimated. The company's plans to construct a rapid transit system in Maryland have recently been scaled back, and its Chicago project is all but dead since Lori Lightfoot 's election as mayor in 2019.
