China's Blockchain Service Network (BSN) integrates oracle service Chainlink (LINK) into its ecosystem.
The Chinese State Information Centre, China Mobile, China UnionPay, and Red Date Technology recently established BSN. The goal of the group is to develop infrastructure to reduce entry barriers to the technology blockchain.
Too costly Blockchain
Yifan He, CEO of Red Date Technology and co-founder of BSN, told cointelegraph that he was excited at the new capabilities it created when his company started experimenting with Blockchain technology but dismayed at its cost:
"We have indeed seen the upgrade to the distributed way of data transmission from the Internet. So the technology we really liked. Nonetheless, at the same time, we thought it was too costly to make sense because it costs almost half a million yuan to start the project simply to create the environment, to put the system together and to construct the nodes.
The number one alternative was not Chainlink
Chianlink was not BSN's first choice at all, but second on the list of possible service providers oracalyzed. He says, however, that the strength of the community and team of Chainlink influenced them:
We were looking at the top four, Chainlink was not number one on the list. This was the second. But we saw the best community and best support for Chainlink. [...] We liked the team really, too.
He also noted that there are sadly so many misunderstandings of China's blockchain projects in the West that says, "Not everyone in China is bad."
