China is seeing an rise in the number of companies linked to artificial intelligence ( AI) as entrepreneurs rush to catching development in the field, data have shown.
As of Thursday, more than 210,000 newly registered AI-related businesses have been registered in the country this year, increasing by 45.27% year on year, according to data from the Tianyancha.com web application site.
About 950,000 firms in China are involved in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, computer mining, cloud computing, speech and image recognition, and natural language processing.
According to the multinational business research company International Data Corporation, the value of China's AI tech and service industry is projected to hit $12.75 billion by 2024.
