(Reuters) By the end of June 2020, more than 400, 000 5 G base stations had been built by China's three main telecommunications operators, a press briefing announcing Thursday's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology ( MIIT).
This figure is up from the 130,000 5 G base stations built in 2019. In the past, the Department said that by the end of 2020, it expects to build a total of more then 600,000 base stations.
MIIT Deputy Minister Xin Guobin also said in the press briefing that China will support the battery swap infrastructure for electric cars.
Nio Inc and its BAIC BluePark are one of the Chinese car manufacturers that currently offer swapable battery electric vehicles.
