Chan Zuckerberg Initiative funded scientists urge the CEO of Facebook to stop misinformation.

The Washington Post reported that more than 140 scientists receiving funding from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative sent a letter on Saturday to the CEO Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook urging them to improve the policies of the Social Media platform on fire-fighting.

Zuckerberg's Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is the 2015 philanthropic organization, which focuses on technology for the solution of social challenges, including the reform of criminal justice. It is an individual Facebook entity.

In a letter the research scientists declared it "unconvincing the policy of Facebook, but directly antithetical" to CZI's goal of creating a "more inclusive, just and healthy future for everyone" to enable President Trump to use Facebook to spread misinformation and firefighting statements.

"We have been confused to see the failure of President Trump to follow Facebook's policies," says the letter. 'For instance, his expression 'when the plundering begins, the firing begins' is clear expression of inciting violence.

Professors from Stanford, harvard, and a Nobel prize winner are among the scientists who signed the letter.

"Our position is to give as much expression as possible if we do not create an immediate risk of certain harms or dangers in clear policing, and Zuckerberg said, on May 29, that Facebook does not take action against Trump's looting post after Twitter flaming a similar post for the 'glorification of violence.'

That decision prompted Facebook employees to protest virtually, and Mr Zuckerberg said late Friday that his speech policy which encourages violence would be "reviewed" by Facebook.

A Chan Zuckerberg Initiative speaker told The Verge by e-mail that CZI has different offices and a separate mission from Facebook. "We thank you and respect you for the right to express your opinion on Facebook policies and your staff, partners and grantors in this task," said the spokesperson.

Facebook did not return a comment request on Saturday immediately.
