Amazon is starting the delivery of food in India, Swiggy, Zomato is starting the delivery of alcohol

E-Commerce giant Amazon is now expanding its business in the food supply sector. The delivery service called Amazon Food has been launched in some Bengaluru pin codes. Some users in Bengaluru can see the option of food delivery under Amazon Food.
"Free and contactless shipping, hygiene certifies restaurants," Amazon said in the app.
"We are launching Amazon Food in select Bangalore pin codes that allow customers to order from hand-picked local restaurants and cloud kitchens that pass through our high-quality hygiene certification bar. We adhere to the highest safety standards to ensure that our customers remain safe and enjoy a delicious experience, "said the Amazon spokesperson to ET.
According to the app, the service is live in parts of Bellandur, Haralur, Marathalli and Whitefield of Bengalur. However, it is not clear if the company will extend its food services in the rest of the region.
Amazon Food was supposed to be released in February, but was postponed due to coronavirus, reports say. It can be seen whether the service can take over Swiggy and Zomato at a time when the restaurant industry is badly hit.
Amazon provides the basics through the Amazon Pantry. It provides items such as clothing, clothing, health and beauty products, drinks, etc. Amazon also delivers food items that include ready-to - eat meals through Amazon Prime Now and Amazon Fresh.
Customers buying alcohol must check their age and user authentication with their selfie and government ID card. There will also be a limit on the amount of alcohol that can be provided. Certain websites, such as Swiggy , Zomato, Big Basket and Grofers, have gone a long way in the distribution of vital items in the light of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Swiggy and Zomato have begun to deliver alcohol and alcoholic beverages to the capital of Jharkhand. This week, they are planning to expand their service in other cities of Jharkhand.
Swiggy has a new category called Wine Shops from which customers can order liquor at home.
